Myofascial Pain

What makes up the myofascial?

The myofascial system is a network of muscles, connective tissue, nerves, blood vessels, and lymph vessels that work together throughout the body. It provides structure and support, helping to transmit movement. Myofascial pain is distinct from fibromyalgia, which is a widespread painful condition affecting the upper and lower parts of the body. In contrast, myofascial pain tends to be localized. Myofascial pain can be characterized by localized involuntary muscle contractions, often referred to as trigger points.

What are the common causes of myofascial pain?

Myofascial pain syndrome can arise from several possible causes, such as, muscle tension, injuries, and stress. Contributing factors include poor posture, repetitive motion, and psychological trauma.

How does BioInfinity diagnose myofascial pain?

Myofascial pain is typically diagnosed through patient history and a physician’s physical examination, which includes palpating the areas where involuntary muscle contractions occur.
