Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) involves taking blood from your vein and spun down in a centrifuge to achieve the highest concentration of platelets and plasma. It contains many different molecules that help in the repair of damaged tissue. There are growth factors, cytokines, messenger and microRNA, and other proteins that are key in the healing process. PRP is part of all of the regenerative procedures that we utilize. PRP is helpful for the spine, joints, hair, tendons, ligaments, muscles and other areas of the body as well. PRP must go through a healthy inflammatory phase before the healing process begins.
